Modesty.
I am not a humble person. However, my boss is very humble. She always says, ‘I do not have much knowledge. I cannot speak eloquently. I am just a person with nothing special. That’s why people around me help those like me with insufficient abilities.’ Despite her humble self-perception, her abilities are truly remarkable. Everyone sacrifices their time and effort to help her. It’s not that she only receives help from others without putting in the effort herself. She also always strives to help others and does her best to learn and understand if there is something she doesn’t know.
We both started our careers in the same position. To be precise, she was behind me. However, over the past five years, her efforts and sincerity have impressed our colleagues, and now she has far surpassed me. Her achievements at the company are also remarkable. However, she never considers them as her own accomplishments and attributes all the glory to her colleagues. She approaches others with a grateful heart. When I first got to know her, I silently dismissed her lack of knowledge and experience, but now I acknowledge and respect her. This is because I understand that a humble heart is a beautiful yet challenging virtue that I have not possessed.
