How can I stop being so addicted to my phone?
You are already in the process of being free from your addiction. It is because you are now aware of your behaviour and are willing to change it. If you can find the causes of your addiction, you will actually start being free from it. Although some might not get addicted even in the same situation, some may. It's because the cause of addiction is also in that person's mind.

Although some might not get addicted even in the same situation, some may.
It’s because the cause of addiction is also in that person’s mind.

A few of the common causes are Instagram, youtube, games, texting, calling;
Using social media appropriately can benefit our lives, but using it uncontrollably can ruin our bodies and mind.

Addiction is related to a deficiency of one’s thoughts and mind, for example, loneliness, a sense of inferiority, anxiety about not being good enough, dissatisfaction with reality, etc.

When faced with those feelings, it is hard to escape them; because it is already inside your mind. So subconsciously, our minds try to distract ourselves from those painful thoughts by focusing on something else(like being on your devices, watching p*rn, gaming, etc.).

In the past, when I was also addicted to gaming, I tried finding an escape from those games; going out to places, like the library; or leaving my phone with others so that I wouldn’t use it.

In spite of my efforts, I still ended up playing it again. Then I realised that the real problem was not from the outside but my mental state.

Addiction is always caused by the mind that one has.

All I had in my mind was a false mind that I had made, and it was not the truth. It was a self-centered and negative mind based on my perspective.

And the right solution that I’ve found was to reflect on your mind and discard your negative thoughts. Clearing away anxiety, dissatisfaction, and suppressed thoughts will fade the mind of lacking. Without a lack of mind, one is naturally free of addiction. As I discarded those minds, the truth, which is our original mind, was revealed. The more I recovered my true mind, the less I felt lacking. I could feel my consciousness opening up. Therefore, I am no longer as obsessed over something as before.

Like when you’re sick(you find out how you got ill and check your body conditions), you can see where that lack or pain comes from by looking back on yourself. And clearing away the causes will tremendously free you from addiction.
